Fun Fall Activities in Greendale, Wisconsin

Fall is the perfect time to take a weekend getaway with that special someone. It is a great season for viewing the changing leaves on all the trees, warming up with pumpkin-spiced lattes, or just holding hands while strolling outside a romantic bed and breakfast. Fall is also a great time to spend a day on an outing with the kids to see the leaves changing or to go apple picking or take a hayride.

The historic, garden village of Greendale, Wisconsin is a gorgeous spot to visit for many autumn activities whether you are with your spouse or your whole family. Here are just some of the fun things you can look forward to doing while visiting.

Located in southeast Wisconsin, Greendale is not far from Milwaukee. It is a small village that is part of the original three Greenbelt towns developed by the US Department of Agriculture in the 1930s. The objective was to create a suburban community that had all the benefits of city and country living.

The development started when the government purchased thousands of acres of farmland just outside the City of Milwaukee. The village homes were built within a greenbelt of parks, gardens, and farms. This greenery is what make Greendale a desirable place to visit for a long weekend. There are events, fairs, and festivals that celebrate autumn’s arrival which is fun for adults and kids alike.

Some Fun Things to Do

A stop at the Historic Greendale Welcome Center should be first on your list. The center showcases the village’s quaint, lush gardens while offering you a chance to learn more about its history.
